The Trustees are dedicated to high standards in the administration of a workers' compensation program. Trustees are uncompensated and take time out of their business to lend their expertise to the Trust.  The Trustees contribute a significant amount of their time to insure the success of the Trust.

Digressing for a moment to 1991, we find the workers' compensation insurance market in turmoil. Restaurant operators were forced into the "Mississippi Assigned Risk Pool" at rates 40% higher than standard cost. Many Mississippi business associations formed group self-insurance pools to provide members with an alternative to the assigned risk pool. The Mississippi Restaurant Association sponsored the formation of the Trust. Service Industries Workers Compensation Trust was granted a certificate by the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission to begin offering workers' compensation effective April 1, 1991. The name was changed in 1997 to Mississippi Restaurant Association Workers Compensation Trust to better reflect the Trusts commitment to the restaurant industry. When the Mississippi Restaurant Association changed its name to the Mississippi Hospitality Restaurant Association, the Trust adopted this change into the Trust's name.
